RKC and IBD: 20 Days

Getting Stronger – August 6, 2012

Today was a good day. I was able to get a lot of work done in the morning before my kettlebell training class started at noon. At the class I tried a 28kg Turkish Get Up and it felt great. I’ve usually stuck with the 24kg, sometimes the 20kg (don’t tell anyone) when I wasn’t feeling strong. But today the 28kg felt solid throughout the entire move. I like that feeling.

At the end of the training session I did another 5 minute snatch test. Unfortunately I did not hit the 100 rep mark today. I’m still having trouble around the 40-50 rep range where my body feels like it is going to shut down, my brain doesn’t understand what is happening, and everything shakes…other than that I felt great.

I know that I can hit the 100 rep mark in 5 minutes. I’ve been able to get 95 before and that was with some time resting.

It feels like it will come down to 2 key areas on Test Day:

  • Solid, clean form throughout the 5 minutes, and
  • Leaving everything I have out there for those 5 minutes.

I know I can do both.
